Breeder of Rare & Exotic Animals
SPECIALIZING IN RARE WHITE DROMEDARY AND BACTRIAN CAMELS

Larry Seibel, owner of Ferncroft Farms an exotic breeding facility, that he has owned and managed with a  great deal of care and expertise for over thirty years. Larry has established quite a name for himself in the exotic industry.  His clients have come to expect only the best.  He is known for the quality of animals he produces as well the consultation he provides before and after the sale.
Larry has the largest herd of bactrian and dromedary camels on the east coast  and has raised many  rare sought after white camels.  In addition to owning and operating Ferncroft Farms for over 30 years, Larry has owned and operated the Triangle Metro Zoo (Raleigh, NC), with a collection of over 400 animals. His knowledge of  animal care and husbandry is indeed a special trait.  Larry constantly shares his knowledge with other zoos, owners of exotics and his customers.  He has appeared on numerous  national TV shows, been interviewed for feature articles  in many magazines and newspapers.  He is interviewed quite often for his extensive  knowledge.   He has produced dogs that have placed  at the prestigious
Westminster's Dog Show.  Most importantly he cares very deeply about these animals, their welfare and their ability to survive in this challenging environment.

Larry is currently working on bringing camel milk to the U.S. market.  Camel milk has been called "liquid gold" for it's nutritional and healing qualities.  Camel milk has three times as much vitamin C as cow's milk and contains high amounts of iron, unsaturated fatty acids and B vitamins according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.  Camel milk is believed to be an aid for everything from diabetes to autism.  Larry Seibel was the first in the United States to provide milk, from a mother camel named "Martha",  to aid in creating a series of tests required to insure the quality of camel milk.  Larry Seibel was featured in the Wall Street Journal ( July 22, 2009) about his goal to make this commodity available in the U.S.
